Question : OFFICERS SENT ABROAD FOR TRAINING



(a) whether the Government nominates officers for training to the reputed foreign Institutions for improving their academic, managerial, technical and administrative capabilities in various field and disciplines at the cost of the public exchequer and by way of sponsorships;

(b) if so, the number of officers sent abroad both the short term and the long term training courses from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas during the last five years;

(c) the number and the percentage of officers out of them belonging to SCs/STs category; and

(d) the reasons for not sending adequate number of SC/ST officers for the said training?

(a) This Ministry has not nominated any officers for training abroad by itself. However, as per the procedure nominations are sent to the Department of Personnel and Training against their circulars, as and when received, inviting nominations for training abroad.

(b) No officer from this Ministry was sent abroad for any training course during the last five years.

(c) to (d) Do not arise.
