(a) & (b): No, the Government has no specific knowledge of patients choosing to take allopathic medicines simultaneously with Unani medicines.
(c ): No new Institutes / unit is established during the last three years and the current year. However, a Unani specialty centre attached to Hakim Ajmal Khan Institute of Literary & Historical Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM under the ministry of AYUSH) at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi has started functioning from 19th May 2015 and an AYUSH wellness centre at President Estate, New Delhi has also started functioning from 25 July 2015 in which Unani clinic is an integral part of the same.
During 12th five year plan an All India Institute of Unani Medicine has been proposed to be established at Ghaziabad, (Uttar Pradesh). Project Management Consultant for preparation of DPR for establishment of All India Institute of Unani medicine Ghaziabad has been selected.
(d): Government of India has approved and notified National AYUSH Mission (NAM) on 29.09.2014 which envisages better access to AYUSH services including Unani system: strengthening of AYUSH educational institutions including Unani system, facilitate the enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani & Homoeopathy (ASU & H) drugs and sustainable availability of ASU & H raw materials in the state/UTs.
