Question : AVIATION UNIVERSITY OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARD



(a) whether the Government proposes to set up an aviation university of International standard in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the other steps being taken by the Government to promote studies in aviation sector in the country; and

(d) the status of setting up of a world class flying training institute at Gondia,Maharashtra?

(a):- There is no proposal to set up an Aviation University under the aegis of Ministry of Civil Aviation.

(b):- Does not arise.

(c):- The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udar Akademy (IGRUA) offers training courses for Commercial Pilot Licence including renewal and endorsement tests, simulator training courses, multi-engine endorsement and Instrument Rating courses, refresher courses for Chief Flying Instructors of flying clubs and ground training for prospective flying instructors.

(d):- The National Flying Training Institute at Gondia, Maharashtra has been formed as Joint Venture Enterprise between Airports Authority of India and M/s. CAE Associate Co., International Flight School (Mauritius) Limited and training has started.
