Question : INCENTIVE FROM NATIONAL HORTICULTURE BOARD



(a) details of the incentives provided by `National Horticulture Board` set up for agricultural development to small farmers, farmers organizations, government and non-governmental organizations for ultra modern farming of various fruits and flowers, State-wise;

(b) whether the minimum incentive/assistance has been provided to Bihar by the said board;

(c) if so, the reasons therefor;

(d) if not, the number of projects cleared in Bihar and those proved successful out of them; and

(e) whether Government are contemplating to improve the way of working of the said important board by transferring the competent and efficient officers from I.C.A.R. or NABARD to the said board?

(a) to (d): State-wise details of financial assistance released by the National Horticulture Board to provide incentives for ultra modern farming of various fruits and flowers such as floriculture and tissue culture units under its Scheme, namely, `Development of Marketing of Horticultural Produce through Participation in Soft Loan` are indicated in the Statement at Annexure-I. Details of financial assistance provided by the National Horticulture Board for transfer of proven technology on commercial scale, State-wise, are indicated in the Statement at Annexure-II. As the schemes are demand based, no State-wise targets are fixed. Details of financial assistance provided to the States/UTs including Bihar under other major schemes of the National Horticulture Board for integrated development of horticulture are indicated in the Statement at Annexure-III.

(e): The National Horticulture Board has been implementing the approved schemes/programmes assigned to it for integrated development of horticulture and there is no such proposal to have the services of officials from ICAR or NABARD.
