Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:
(a) the details of AYUSH products manufactured and sold in the country during the last five years particularly during the COVID-19 period, State/UT-wise and company-wise; and
(b) the steps being taken by the Government to encourage manufacturing and sale of AYUSH products?

(a): Exclusive provisions for grant of license to manufacture Ayurveda, Siddha & Unani and Homoeopathy drugs are prescribed in the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules 1945, which are enforced by the State Licensing Authorities and their records are not maintained at the central level. The information received from the States/UTs is annexed.
(b): In the wake of the Covid 19 outbreak, the government has issued guidelines for expediting the process for grant of approval/license/renewal of license for manufacturing of Ayurveda, Siddha & Unani immunity boosting healthcare products and sanitizers to all states UT’s licensing authorities and drug controllers on 02.04.2020. The State Licensing Authorities/ Drug controllers have been directed to complete the licensing/approval/renewal process expeditiously and dispose of the applications of the manufacturers in maximum a week’s time provided the prescribed standards and relevant provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945, in terms of use of ingredients and permitted excipients is in accordance with the authoritative books including Pharmacopoeias and Formularies.
