Question : Number of Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management

(a) the State-wise number of Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management in the country along with the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government also proposes to set up Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management its World heritages sites in the country to benefit lakhs of foreign as well as domestic tourists visiting the said sites and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Members of Parliament had also requested for the same through a letter to the Ministry in the year, 2019; and
(d) if so, the action plan in this regard?

(a) & (b): Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) has been set up to provide specialized training, education, research and consultancy in sustainable management of Tourism, Travel and allied sectors. To extend benefit to the lakhs of foreign as well as domestic tourist, the IITTM is producing professionally trained manpower for Tourism and Travel Industry. The State wise list of IITTM in the country is Annexed.

(c) & (d): Yes, Sir. Requests have been received on the issue and the decision for setting up of new centers are taken based on the extant Guidelines.
