(a) whether a number of accused prisoners have been allowed by the courts to appear in various entrance exams to continue their studies through jails since 2014;
(b) if so, the details thereof, including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State and Jail-wise; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) compiles prison statistics reported to it by the States and Union Territories (UTs) and publishes the same in its annual publication “Prison Statistics India”. The latest published report is of the year 2020. Specific information in this regard is not maintained centrally by NCRB.
