MINISTER OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES & AGRO AND RURAL INDUSTRIES (SHRI MAHABIR PRASAD)

(a): Sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 provides for constitution of the National Board of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NBMSME) with the Minister in charge of the Ministry or Department of the Central Government having administrative control of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as the ex-officio Chairperson and 46 other members. The Government has notified the National Board for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Rules, 2006, which inter alia, contain the term of office of the members of the Board, other than ex-officio members, the manner of filling vacancies, and the procedure to be followed in the discharge of their functions by the members of the Board. (b)&(c): The NBMSME has not been constituted so far.
