(a) Mango, banana, grapes, apple, oranges, potato, garlic, peas, gherkins and onion are the important fruits and
vegetables exported from India. Details of the export of fruits and vegetables to major importing countries are
given below.
(b) Percentage of exports of fruits and vegetables to their production for 2004-05 is given below.

This data clearly shows that exports of fruits & vegetables as a percentage of their total production are miniscule.
State-wise export statistics are not maintained
(c) Measures taken by the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority(APEDA) to
promote export of fruits and vegetables from the country include participation in fairs, promotional campaigns,
setting up and upgradation of laboratories, setting up of centers for perishable cargo, pack houses and other
infrastructural facilities, implementation of residue monitoring plans and market access initiatives.Agri export
zones have been set up for various fruits and vegetables. APEDA has been extending financial assistance to
exporters under its schemes for financial assistance for Infrastructure Development, Market Development,
Quality Development, Research & Development and Transport assistance.
