(a) whether the Government is aware that private schools and colleges are charging
exorbitant fees causing lot of hardship to parents; and
(b) if so, the provision/ recommendations made by the National Education Policy (NEP) in
the reduction of fees by private schools/educational institutions?

(a) and (b) : The Government is committed to providing equitable access to quality and
affordable education to all sections of the society. At present, the Government is in the
process of finalizing the National Education Policy based on the Report of the Committee to
Draft National Education Policy (NEP) under the Chairmanship of Dr. K. Kasturirangan
which was submitted to the Ministry on 31st May, 2019.
