(a) whether there is any provision for early implementation of the sixth phase of the lease plan under Bhilai Steel Plant;
(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the time by which it is likely to be implemented; and
(c) the eligibility criteria for the beneficiaries under the said scheme?

(a)to(c): The House Leasing Scheme of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), was introduced in 2001. Regular
employees of SAIL who had completed their probation, ex-employees and spouses/legal heirs of deceased employees
were eligible under the scheme. This scheme continued till 2003 in different phases and a total of 17500 (approx.)
houses in different categories were leased out.
After this there has been no scheme for leasing of company houses. In July 2008, the Board of Directors of SAIL
decided that the unauthorized constructions in previously leased houses be regularized on the basis of prescribed norms.
