Question : Use of Green Technology in Construction of Roads

(a) whether state-of-the-art and green technologies are being used in construction of roads across the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the States which are likely to get immediate benefits under the new Economic Corridor Projects; and
(d) the total number of plants which have been geo-tagged till date with the help of ‘Harit Path’ mobile app?

(a) & (b) Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has taken several initiatives to promote use of state of the art and green technology in construction of National Highways. These include, use for waste material/ by-products / organic material, fly-ash, slag, crumb rubber, modified bitumen, waste plastic, recycled aggregates, jute, coir etc. and processes like recycling, cement treated sub-base/base, soil stabilisation etc.
(c) All States in the country are likely to get benefit under Bharatmala Pariyojana.
(d) 101.39 lakh trees have been geotagged with the help of ‘Harit Path’ mobile app.
