Question : Schemes Funded by SDF

(a) the names and number of schemes being implemented from Sports
Development Fund created for the overall development of sports in the country;

(b) the details of the schemes implemented from the above mentioned Fund,
State-wise including Madhya Pradesh;

(c) whether any monitoring mechanism has been put in place for the successful
implementation of these schemes and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the action plan prepared for the implementation of these schemes in the
country, particularly Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh?

(a) to (d): The objectives of NSDF include financial assistance for promotion of
sports; financial assistance to individual sportspersons for achieving excellence
at national and international level; for development of infrastructure for
promotion of excellence in sports; supply of sports equipment; to take up
research and development studies for providing support to excellence in sports.

NSDF is not implementing different schemes except one ‘Target Olympic
Podium (TOP) Scheme’, which is within the objectives of NSDF. Ministry of Youth
Affairs and Sports have formulated the ‘Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme’
with the objective of identifying and supporting potential medal prospects for
2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. Focused disciplines are Athletics, Archery,
Badminton, Boxing, Wrestling and Shooting.

The NSDF has earmarked fund to the tune of Rs.4882.50 Lacs to the athletes
selected under ‘Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme’ for their customized
training at Institutes having world class facilities and other necessary support.

State-wise allocations of fund is not made under the NSDF Scheme.
