(a) whether the Ministry of Tourism has requested e Centre to lift the ban on LTC in order to promote ,tourism;
(b) if so, whether the Government have considered e request;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the time by which the Government will take decision on the matter?

(a) to (d) Yes, Sir. A letter was received from Secretary, Tourism requesting revocation of the
ban on LTC to help the tourism trade. This was considered in this Ministry and it was decided to continue with the ban
on LTC, in view of the need for economy in government expenditure.
