Question : Development of Dams in Porbandar

(a) the steps taken by the Union Government in coordination with the State Government of Gujarat for the development of Amipur dam, Chhatrara dam and Badasagar dam falling in Porbandar region as on date as the development of the above dams would make a natural source of water and it would also solve the problem of drinking water of the people;
(b) whether the Union Government has contacted the State Government in this regard; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) Water Resources projects are planned, funded, executed and maintained by the State Governments themselves as per their own resources and priority. In order to supplement their efforts, Government of India provides technical and financial assistance to State Governments to encourage sustainable development and efficient management of water resources through various schemes and programmes. As per information received from Government of Gujarat, Amipur dam, Chhatrava dam and Bardasagar dam projects are implemented and maintained by Government of Gujarat with state funds.
