(a) & (b): Government has not initiated any such drive,
but the Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries have taken up
extensive tree plantation programme every year.
As a part of this massive plantation programme, Coal
India Limited has planted over 73 millions plants over an
approximate land area of 32000 ha.
