(a): As and when the need arises the Indian Missions extend financial assistance to
the Indian nationals in foreign jails on Means Tested Basis, irrespective of caste, creed or
religion from the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF).
(b): As reported by our Missions abroad the details of assistance are as follows :
The representatives from the Indian Missions abroad make regular visits to meet Indian nationals
in foreign jails to enquire about their welfare and provide consular assistance required by
them. In case there is a necessity of financial assistance, it is provided by our Missions in
the form of items of daily use to inmates, food, travel assistance and medical assistance etc.
(c): Question does not arise.
