(a) to (c): Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is implementing Mission for integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for development of Horticulture in the country including Gujarat under which financial assistance is available, inter-alia, for setting up of Post Harvest Management (PHM) infrastructure including establishment of cold storage (Construction, Expansion and Modernization) etc.
District wise details of cold storages are not maintained by Horticulture Division, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. However, 811 number of cold storages with total capacity of 30,33,248 MT has been created up to 30.09.2021 in Gujarat, under MIDH.

For creation of Agricultural Marketing infrastructure including Scientific Storage, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India is implementing sub-scheme “Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI)” of Integrated Scheme for Agricultural Marketing (ISAM) across the country including rural areas.
The Scheme is demand driven and since 2001 and up to 31.12.2021, a total of 11970 godowns with storage capacity of 4.96 million MT projects in Gujarat have been assisted. The District-wise detail of number of godowns in Gujarat is at Annexure-I.
Further, with regard to Department of Food & PD, CWC is operating a total of 23 warehouses in the state of Gujarat for storage of food grains and other notified commodities. District wise details are at Annexure-II
Food Corporation of India (FCI) stores mainly Wheat and Rice which do not require temperature controlled warehouses.
As on 01.01.2022, covered storage capacity of 8.38 LMT is available in Gujarat Region. The district-wise details of foodgrain godowns owned or hired by FCI in Gujarat Region are annexed as Annexure-III.
Planning of CWC for establishment of 650 MT cold storage through private parties and additional construction of food grain warehouses at CW, Anand during 2022-23.
Additionally, by FCI, 3 Silos with capacity of 1.50 LMT are under construction in Banaskantha, Amreli and Baroda. W.r.t. FCI, 19 Silos with capacity of 8.875 LMT are proposed under Hub & Spoke model, in Gujarat.
