(a) whether the Government have sanctioned required amount for widening and construction of National Highway No. 80;

(b) if so, whether funds for the construction of dilapidated bridges (Champanagar and Kahalgaon) on this National Highway have been released; and

(c) if so, the name of the agency carrying out the above construction work?

(a) The total length of National Highway No. 80 in Bihar is 190 km. Widening in a length of 20 km has been sanctioned. Sanction for improvement of another 68 km length and construction of 2 bridges for Rs. 18.43 crore has been given after declaration of this National Highway in January 1999.

(b)&(c) Bridge on Champa Nallah could not be sanctioned as it was not provided in the current Annual Plan 2002-03. Kahalgaon bridge (Kowa bridge), has recently been completed by Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam.
