Question : ASSISTANCE TO AGRICULTURAL LABOURERS IN WEST BENGAL



(a) the names of the schemes being run in West Bengal for providing assistance to the agricultural labourers in case of accidents;

(b) whether any grant is provided by the Union Government for the same;

(c) if so, the details thereof alongwith funds provided by the Union Government during each of the last three years; and

(d) the decision taken by the Union Government regarding the continuity of Centrally Sponsored Agriculture Social Security Scheme, 2001?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI OSCAR FERNANDES)

(a) : There is no such scheme for agriculture workers being run in West Bengal.

(b) & (c) : Do not arise.

(d) : Krishi Shramik Samajik Suraksha Yojana launched on 01.07.2001 was being implemented by Life Insurance Corporation of India. The scheme has since been closed in February, 2004.
