(a) whether the Government has made some special arrangements for imparting training for improved and commercial goat rearing;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) Whether training centers have been set up / proposed to be set up in the country including Uttar Pradesh; and

(d) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a) Yes, Madam.

(b) Central Institute for Research on Goats (CIRG), Makhdoom, District Mathura, an institute of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Uttar Pradesh provides training on goat rearing for commercial entrepreneurs as well as for rural farmers. Government of India is implementing a credit linked scheme for Integrated Development of Small Ruminants and Rabbits (IDSRR) through NABARD. Under the scheme provision has been made to provide training to selected beneficiaries on goat rearing activity. Existing training / extension infrastructure of the State are made use of for such training.

(c) & (d) Central1 Institute for Research on Goats , which provides training on goat is located in Uttat Pradesh. State Animal Husbandry Departments and Agriculture / Veterinary Universities also have facilities and programmes for training / orientation of farmers. Establishment of new training centres are not envisaged under IDSRR.
