(e) if so, the reasons therefor; and
(f) the steps taken by the Government for timely completion of these projects?

(a) to (f) : The details of all on-going Railway
projects in Maharashtra and Gujarat, including
outlay proposed for 2002-03 and expected
expenditure upto March, 2002 for each project, is
given in Appendix-I & II respectively. Target date
of completion of projects, wherever fixed, is
given in the status of the project. Projects are
being progressed as per their relative priority
and availability of resources. The steps taken by
the Government for timely completion of these
projects are also given in the Appendices.
The details of surveys in Gujarat and Maharashtra
is in the Appendix-III & IV respectively.

Gauge Conversion
6 Miraj-Latur CR 329.02 141.37 30.00 The work is being progressed in phases. In the phase-I, Gauge conversion work from Kuruduwadi to Pandharpur (52 km) has been completed . In phase-II, from Latur Road to Latur
(42 km) earthwork and major and minor bridges have been completed. Track work has been taken up and section is expected to be completed during 2002-03. Work on Phase-III, from Kurduwadi to Latur
(143 km) has also been taken up. Miraj-Pandharpur
(137 km) Phase-IV work will be taken up as last phase of the project. 7 Mudkhed- SCR 142.22 7.98 30.00 The work was taken Adilabad up under BOLT scheme . Now it has been decided to take up the work through Railway funding. Arrangements are being made to take up the work. 8 Solapur-Gadag SCR 262.05 136.61 20.00 The work is being done in phases. The work Solapur-Hotgi and Hotgi to Bijapur has been completed. Work is in progress on rest of section from Bijapur to Gadag which will be completed in the coming years as per availability of resources. Funding through KRIDES is being tried with a view to expedite early completion of this work. 9 Secunderabad- SCR 287.83 88.20 30.00 The work has been Mudkhed & taken up in first Jankhampet- phase from Mudkhed- Bodhan Nizamabad (96 Km). On Mudkhed- Nizamabad section, conversion block has been taken up and Mudkhed- Dharmabad is expected to be completed by 31.03.2002 and the rest by 30.06.2002.
