(c) whether the number, of such applicants has shown an increasing trend during the past few years;

(d) if so, the details thereof during each of the last three years and the current year;

(e) whether there is any proposal to expand the facilities at the institute to cater to the rush of patients and if so, the details thereof; and

(f) if not, the reasons therefor?

4. EPS & Radio Frequency Ablation.

5. Intra Cardiac Defibrillator Implantation.

6. Cardiac Resynchronizing therapy.

7. Major open heart coronary bypass and other surgeries.

8. Open heart surgical repair of Complex Congenital Heart Defects.

9. Cardiac Conduit implantation procedures and aortic root replacement surgery.

10. Epilepsy surgeries.

11. Movement Disorder surgeries.

12. Neurovascular & peripheral intervention.

13. Advanced CT & MR imaging facility.

(e) Yes, Madam. The details are as under:

(i) A new hospital block is planned in the 84.354 cents of land.

(ii) Establishment of SCTIMST Partnership Institute at Wayanad. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Department of Health and Family Welfare, MOHFW, Department of Health Research, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Kerala. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India will be in the overall administrative control of this Partnership Institute at Wayanad.

SCTIMST (representing DST) plans to support this initiative in three phases:

# SCTIMST will set up a Public Health Facility in partnership with ICMR which proposes to set up an Institute for Research in Aging and pursue other activities related to Tribal Health research.

# SCTIMST will support setting up speciality-care services and research facilities for cardiac and neurological diseases, when a base hospital facility is set up by the Ministry of Health, Govt. of Kerala,

# SCTIMST will also undertake rural-based technology research activity for developing and implementing appropriate cost effective medical technologies for promoting rural health. The Govt. of Kerala is in the process of finalizing acquisition of land in Wayanad.
