STARRED QUESTION NO.226* FOR 6TH MARCH, 2020
(a) At present there are Twelve (12) Ayurvedic colleges functioning in Rajasthan State including 03 Government Ayurvedic Colleges. Total 895 under graduate seats and 228 post graduate seats available in Rajasthan.
(b) , (c), (d) & (e) The research work done in post- graduate ayurvedic college is not utilized to develop medicines. The research work data generated in teaching Hospital associated with Ayurvedic Colleges is use for training of students and also in public Health related matters.
However, Government of India has established Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH as an apex organization for undertaking, coordinating, formulating, developing and promoting research in Ayurvedic sciences on scientific lines.
CCRAS is conducting clinical trial for validation of classical Ayurvedic formulations and also for new drug development. So far, the council has validated 125 classical Ayurveda formulations through clinical trial and generated their scientific evidence of clinical efficacy & safety in diseases of national importance.
The clinical trial for 51 classical Ayurveda formulations are under process for generation of their scientific evidence of clinical efficacy & safety in diseases of national importance.
CCRAS is also continuously engaged in development of new Ayurvedic drugs through clinical trials. So far, CCRAS has developed 09 New drugs and has been transferred to various industries through National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) for wider utility of public. The Council has also undertaken 13 new coded drugs which are at different phases of drug development.
