(a) to (c) The primary responsibility of protection and management of forests lies with respective State/UT Governments. The State Governments take various measures for protection of forests such as survey & demarcation, patrolling, erection of check posts, use of information and communication technologies etc. Further, action against forest offences including illegal felling and trade is taken under extant Acts and Rules.
