Question : Eateries at Heritage Sites

(a) whether the Government proposes to use the land belonging to the cultural heritage sites for the purpose of setting up eateries etc at a specified rate while ensuring that no damage is done to cultural heritage sites;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor and the reaction of the Government thereto; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to make the said cultural heritage sites more attractive?

(a)to(c) Cafeteria at centrally protected monuments is one of the facility provided at selected centrally protected monuments considering the scope and feasibility. Such cafeterias would provide only packed snacks, tea, coffee & packed water to visitors. It is ensured that no damage is done to cultural heritage sites.

(d) For better presentation of monuments, signages are provided besides landscaping and environmental development in and around monuments.
