Question : General Budget

(a) whether the Government has invited various industrial groups and trade/ business
organizations for consultations for preparing the general budget for the year 2020 as well
as requested to give their feedback, suggestions for inclusion in the general budget;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has extended the invitation to the farmers/ agriculturists to give
their suggestions and feedback for pre-budget consultations; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d) Yes, Sir. The Ministry of Finance holds the Pre-Budget consultations with the various stakeholders including representatives of industrial groups, trade/business organizations and farmers/agriculturists and their suggestions/ideas are noted for preparing the Union Budget. The proposals and suggestions received from industrial groups, trade/business organizations and farmers/agriculturists covered a range of themes/issues which, inter alia, related to revival of growth and investment, promotion of exports, ease of doing business, promotion of agriculture, animal husbandry and agro processing sector and empowerment of farmers.
