Question : Schemes for Development of FPIs

(a) the total number of various schemes being implemented by the Government in Maharashtra particularly in Washim and Yavatmal districts and Ramtek in Nagpur district for the development of Food Processing Industries (FPIs) as on date;

(b) whether the Government is facing any difficulties in implementation of the said schemes in the rural and urban areas of Maharashtra and if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of measures taken/being taken to ensure effective implementation of various such schemes in Maharashtra particularly in Washim, Yavatmal and Parbhani districts and Ramtek;

(d) whether financial, technical and commercial assistance is being provided for the upgradation of FPIs and micro FPIs in Maharashtra particularly in Washim and Parbhani districts and Ramtek through Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO THE PARTS (a) TO (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.229 FOR ANSWER ON 14TH DECEMBER 2021 ABOUT “SCHEMES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF FPIs”

(a): Ministry of Food Processing Industries is implementing three schemes for development of Food Processing Industries across the country including all parts of Maharashtra, namely –(i) Central Sector Umbrella Scheme “ Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY)”, comprising of 8 component schemes; (ii) Centrally sponsored “PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)” Scheme & (iii) Central Sector “Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme” for Food Processing Sector. A total of 153 projects have been approved in the state for setting up of Food processing industries under PMKSY, out of which 106 projects have already been completed. Out of these 153 projects, 18 projects are located in Nagpur district and 1project is in Washim District. 3 projects have also been approved under PLI scheme in Nagpur District.

(c): In order to further encourage participation of entrepreneurs of the region and smooth implementation of the projects, Ministry has taken various measures, which include- (i) Creating awareness about its schemes; (ii) Application, evaluation and sanction of projects through online portal; (iii) Dashboard for monitoring the implementation of the projects; (iv) Regular review meetings with the promoters/state nodal departments/ banks for speedy implementation; (v) Assessing the progress of projects though virtual site visit in the wake of Covid Pandemic to prevent delays in project completion; and (vi) Appointment of District Resource Person in Parbhani, Washim & Nagpur districts for handholding PMFME applicants;.

(d) & (e): Yes Sir. The details of assistance provided under PMFME scheme, implemented under Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, in Maharashtra State including Washim, Parbhani & Nagpur districts are placed at Annexure.
