Question : Job Cuts by Private Companies

(a)whether the Government has any data regarding State-wise large scale laying off/job cuts by private companies from 01st April, 2020 to till date, followed by declaration of lockdown;
(b)if so, the details thereof, State/UT, Sector and Month-wise;
(c)the policy initiatives taken or being taken by Government to provide appropriate employment to these educated laid off manpower; and
(d)whether there is any proposal with the Government to provide unemployment allowance to them so long as they do not get employment?

(a) to (d): The Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic followed by lockdowns has affected economies across the globe including India. Government has taken several initiatives to address the challenges and threats posed by Covid-19.

More than twenty seven lakh crore financial package under “Aatm Nirbhar Bharat” has been launched specifically to create employment opportunities for migrant workers, workers of unorganized sector, strengthening of MSME Sector and promoting rural economy. It includes plethora of initiatives for all these sectors.
