(a) & (d) The Deen Dayal Upadhyay-Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) is being implemented by the Government, which is a placement linked skill development program for rural poor youth in the age group of 15-35 years since September, 2014. DDU-GKY guidelines provide for earmarking 50% of the funds for SCs and STs and 15% for minorities. Further, one third beneficiaries of the respective categories under the scheme should be women.
DDU-GKY follows a 3-tier implementation architecture for implementation. National level is responsible for policy, funding of central share and technical support, while State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs)/ State Skills Missions are responsible for funding of State share, implementation and monitoring controls. Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs), which are mostly private training partners, are responsible for mobilization, training and placements. State-wise details including Maharashtra is as given at Annexure-I
(b) The scheme is being implemented in the State of Maharashtra including Thane, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Sangli, Ahmednagar, Nandurbar, Usmanabad, Marathwada including Parbhani and Ramtek Parliamentary Constituencies and districts of Vidharbha region. District-wise details are given at Annexure-II
(c) In Maharashtra, under DDU-GKY a total number of 44,938 beneficiaries have been successfully imparted the training and out of which 33,026 beneficiaries have been provided with the employment till date.
(e) Under DDU-GKY training is being imparted to the youth based on the qualification packs, approved by National Skills Qualification Committee of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The training consists of theory, practical and on-job training imparted in domain skills. Additionally computer skills, english skills and life skills are also imparted to make the trainees adapt better to the work environment.
