Question : Vande Bharat Mission

(a) the number of Indians being rescued under the Vande Bharat Mission from various countries during the lockdown arisen by COVID-19;

(b) if so, the details thereof, country-wise along with the number of Indians still to be brought back under Vande Bharat Mission in these countries as on date;

(c) the number of rescue missions led by India for the evacuation of Indians with the number of people saved through such operations, country-wise and the response of the other countries in this regard;

(d) whether the Government has taken/ is taking effective steps in consultation with other countries for the safe evacuation of the rest of the persons trapped in these countries; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the success achieved in this regard, so far?

(a) to (e) As on 11 September 2020, more than 13,85,670 Indians have returned to India under the Vande Bharat Mission from various countries. The country-wise list of Indians who have returned to India is attached at Annexure-I. Stranded Indians with the most compelling reasons have all safely returned to their homes. Our Missions are in regular touch with Indians resident in their country of accreditation and are facilitating their return to India on request. Those wishing to return to India can directly book with the concerned airlines under the Vande Bharat Mission or approach the Indian Missions in this regard.
