Question : LOANS FROM SDF

(a) whether concessional loans are provided to sugar mills from the Sugar Development Fund (SDF) for their expansion and modernisation;

(b) if so, the number of proposals received seeking financial assistance from the SDF during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;

(c) the names of sugar mills which have been provided financial assistance from SDF during the said period;

(d) whether the said sugar mills have fully utilised the funds; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Yes Madam.

(b): A statement showing State/UT-wise number of proposals received during the last three years and the current year seeking financial assistance for expansion and modernisation from Sugar Development Fund is at Annexure-I.

(c): A statement indicating names of the 62 sugar mills (year-wise) who have been disbursed financial assistance from Sugar Development Fund for their expansion and modernisation during the last three years and in the current year is at Annexure-II.

(d) & (e): Out of above 62 numbers of disbursements made during the previous three years as well as in the current year (as shown in Annexure-II), funds have been fully utilised by 58 sugar mills. The details are indicated in column 4 of the Annexure-II.
