Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR POWER, COAL & NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) (SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)

(a): The Ministry has initiated scheme for setting up 25 Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects to be developed in 5 years in various States. The Government of Rajasthan has identified land at Bhadla for 1700 MW and at Jaisalmer for 2000 MW for setting up solar parks in phases wherein several solar power projects would come up in the Park.

Therefore projects which may be amongst the largest may come up here.

(b): The estimated cost for development of solar park would be around Rs.0.95 Cr./MW. Solar Power Plants of various capacities would be set up by Solar Power Developers in the Park. The developers would be selected through bidding process under Central/State Schemes. As per tariff determined for the year 2014-15 by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), the capital cost of Grid connected solar PV project is Rs. 6.91 Cr./MW.

(c): A park is planned to be developed within 18 months, however, the Grid-connected Solar Power Projects, within the Park, will take around 13 months for commissioning.

(d)&(e): Yes, Madam. The Ministry has received consent from 12 States including Rajasthan for Development of Solar Parks. The details are enclosed at Annexure-I.

(f): Does not arise.
