(a) whether ONGC have invited tenders for hiring three new helicopters for its offshore drilling operations;
(b) if so, the number of tenders received by ONGC;
(c) whether ONGC had not opened all the tenders and sharp differences in prices between earlier suppliers of chopper and the present ones have come to light;
(d) if so, whether the Government propose to direct the ONGC to re-tender its requirement of the helicopters; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC) have invited two International Competitive Bidding tenders for charter hire of 3 large and 3 medium helicopters. Five bids were received against tenders for large helicopters and three for medium helicopters. The tenders are under further processing by ONGC for decision as per their tender procedures and bid evaluation criteria.
