Question : Railway Projects through BuildOperate-Transfer Model

(a) whether the railways has identified some projects to be taken up for development through the new Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) annuity model;

(b) if so, the details of the projects;

(c) whether the feasibility study of the proposed projects has since been completed and if so, the details thereof;

(d) the details of the developers identified to whom this task is likely to be handed over; and

(e) the time by which the projects under BOT are likely to be completed?

(a): Yes, Madam.

(b) & (c): Three (03) projects have been identified for execution under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Annuity model. Feasibility study of these projects have been completed and the details are as under:-

(i) Bhadrak-Nargundi 3rd line (80 km)- East Coast Railway – Estimated project cost: ? 900 crore.

(ii) Kazipet-Vijayawada 3rd line with electrification (202 km)- South Central Railway - Estimated project cost: ?1566 crore.

(iii) Nagpur-Wardha 3rd line (76 km)- Central Railway - Estimated project cost: ? 550 crore.

(d) & (e): No concessionaire has been appointed for the above mentioned annuity projects. As such, no time frame for completion can be indicated.
