(a) The Ministry of Women and Child Development is implementing Support to Training and Employment Programme for Women (STEP) Scheme with a view to make women economically self-reliant. The Scheme basically aims at providing training for skill upgradation of women beneficiaries, development of entrepreneurial skills, asset creation to mobilize them into small viable groups and enable them to take up employment-cum-income generation activities to increase their self reliance.
