has been registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act No. 21 of
1860), and is supported by the Indian Council of Social Science and Research
(ICSSR) and Government of Uttar Pradesh, as an autonomous institute of national
importance.
(c) The main aims and objectives of the Institute are to undertake, aid, promote
and coordinate research in Development, with special emphasis on the problems of India
and her regions, particularly the promotion and growth of the weaker and/or poor
sections of the people with a view to bringing about social equality and removing
