THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES(SHRI JAI PRAKASH NARAYAN YADAV)

(a) No, Madam.

(b) Does not arise.

(c) The progress on implementation of Project is held up mainly due to the non-acceptance of the proposed site by Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) due to the 49 hectares area of Wild Life Sanctuary being diverted to dam construction, keeping in view of the Hon’ble Supreme Court orders. Government of Himachal Pradesh have filed an application with Central Empowered Committee constituted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court for recommending the case for seeking exemption. The commencement of construction work will depend upon the clearance of the project site, based on the exemption to be granted by Hon’ble Supreme Court.
