(a) to (d): Procurement of military equipment are undertaken based on operational requirements of the Armed Forces in accordance with Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP). During the last three financial years (2016-17 to 2018-19), 91 contracts have been signed with Indian vendors for procurement of defence equipment for Armed forces as under:

The defence equipment procured from Indian vendors during this period include Helicopters, Naval Vessels, Radars, Ballistic Helmet, Artillery Guns, Missiles, Bullet Proof jackets, Electronic Fuses, Simulators and ammunition.
The Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP)-2016 reflects the commitment of the government to promote indigenization and self-reliance in the defence sector by harnessing the capability of the public and private sector. The extant procedure inter-alia, enable procurement of defence equipment from Indian vendors manufacturing on their own, or in collaboration with foreign equipment manufacturers.
