Question : Har Ghar Nal Har Ghar Jal Yojana

(a) the details of the Har Ghar Nal Har Ghar Jal Yojana;
(b) the details of the schemes being implemented by the Government to provide safe drinking water to the people, State-wise;
(c) whether the people of Assam are compelled to drink salty water and if so, the details of the arrangement being made by the Government in this regard;
(d) whether the people of lower area of our neighbouring country Bhutan are facing a lot of problem regarding drinking water and if so, the details of the necessary steps being taken by the Government in this regard;
(e) the number of villages which have received drinking water under the said scheme in BTR of Assam; and
(f) the time by which all villages are likely to get drinking water?

(a) & (b) Since August, 2019, Government of India in partnership with States is implementing Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) – Har Ghar Jalto provide assured potable water supply to every rural household in the country through Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) by 2024.
(c) As reported by the State Government, Assam is not affected by salinity in drinking water sources.
(d) This department does not maintain such information about people living in neighbouring country.
(e) As reported, every household in 4 villages of Assam’s BTR region started getting tap water supply.
(f) As reported by the State, all rural households in Assam are planned to be provided withtap water connections by 2024.
