(a) whether the Government has converged some other schemes of rural employment with the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) for their better implementation and effectiveness, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether there is any definite timeframe within which all rural employment schemes will get converged with MGNREGS; and
(c) if so, the details thereof along with the States which have already started to proceed for convergence?

(a)to(c): Yes, Madam. Guidelines have been issued for convergence of works under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) with identified schemes/prog- rammes of other departments/Ministries as per the list given in the Annexure-I. All the States has also been encouraged to formulate State Conver- gence Plans (SCP) converging activities, funds, and other resources of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and the participating line departments. So far, 21 States/UTs have formulated and submitted their SCPs during the FY 2014-15. The State/UTs-wise details of works proposed under convergence of MGNREGA with other schemes as reported by States/UTs are given in the Annexure-II.
These convergence projects are monitored continuously through a separate web portal.
