(a) whether after the strategic sale of Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd. (BALCO), the gross fixed
assets of the company has been significantly improved;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the steps being taken by the Government to improve the company`s gross fixed assets?

(a) to (c): Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) has informed that the gross assets
of the Company have increased by 403% from Rs. 962.99 crores as on 31.3.2001(year of
strategic sale) to Rs. 4845.04 crores as on 31.3.2007. As informed by the Company, the
gross assets of BALCO for the years 2000-01 to 2006-07 are as follows:
