(a) whether any proposal regarding construction of new rail lines, gauge conversion of the existing narrow
gauge lines and modernisation of railway station in Uttaranchal are pending with the Government; and
(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith reasons for delay in clearing the above proposals?

(a) & (b): An updating survey for gauge conversion of Bhojpura - Pilibhit - Tanakpur section (101.79 Kms.) has been
completed recently. Further consideration of the proposal would depend on the results of survey after due examination.
No proposal is pending for modernisation of railway station in the State.
