Question : Compulsory Voting

(a) whether the Government proposes to enact any law to enforce compulsory voting in the country, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(b) whether the Government has received suggestions from any organization or the State Governments to make voting compulsory and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has proposed to make voting certificate mandatory to avail benefits and schemes provided by the Government in order to increase the percentage of voter turnout in various elections, if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the number of democratic countries in the world where voting is compulsory?
