Question : CBI CASES IN J K



(a) the details and status of various cases filed by the CBI in Jammu and Kashmir during the last three years;

(b) the details of closure of cases; and

(c) the reasons of delay, if any, for closure of these cases?

(a) & (b): Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up 68 cases (RC+PE) in Jammu and Kashmir during the last 3 years i.e. 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 (upto 30.6.2014). The year-wise details are as under:-

The remaining Regular cases (RCs) which have not been closed by CBI are 45 in number and are at different stages of trial/investigation in CBI. So far as remaining PEs (15) are concerned their status are such as “Referred to department for Regular Departmental Action” and/ or “converted into RC”.

(c): No Madam. Closure of cases is done as per due process of law. Out of 5 Regular cases (RC) closed by CBI, in 04 cases, Closure Report has been accepted by the Court concerned, whereas, in 01 case, Court has to take decision on Closure Report. Hence, there is no delay.
