Question : Temporary Disruption of Internet

Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:

(a) whether according to a recent study by research firm Brookings, India has suffered a loss of almost a billion dollars over the past one year due to temporary internet shutdowns in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has identified the causes behind such problem;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the measures undertaken by the Government to address the issue which is detrimental to the IT industry?
