Question : PROMOTION OF HORTICULTURE

(a) whether the Government have announced special financial assistance to promote Horticulture industry; and

(b) if so, the details thereof?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (SHRI HUKUMDEO NARAYAN YADAV)

(a) & (b): The Government is providing financial assistance to promote horticulture in the country through the following schemes:


(i) National Horticulture Board Programmes.

(ii) Coconut Development Board Programmes for Integrated Development of Coconut Industry.

(iii) Technology Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture in North Eastern States including Sikkim.

(iv) Integrated Development of Horticulture in Tribal/Hilly Areas.
Besides assistance is being provided for various activities including development of horticulture under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Macro Management in Agriculture – Supplementation/Complementation of State Efforts through Work Plan.
