Question : TOLL ON DELHI GURGAON EXPRESSWAY



(a) the details of the toll fee charged on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, vehicle-wise;  

(b) whether the toll fee is continued to be charged even after realizing full cost of the construction;  

(c) if so, the details thereof alongwith the reasons therefor; and  

(d) if not, the criteria fixed for discontinuation of toll fee on the National Highways?

 (a) The detail of user fee charges on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway vehicle-wise effective from 01.04.2008 is as under:

(b) and (c) Toll collection on the BOT project has commenced only on 26th Jan 08. The concession period for this project is 20 years starting from 12.01.2003.    The concessionaire of this Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) Project is entitled to collect the user fee during the concession period in accordance with sub rule 3 (1) and 3 (2) of “The National Highways (Collection of fees by any person for the use of section of National Highways/Permanent Bridge/Temporary Bridge on National Highways) rules, 1997”. Thereafter National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will continue the collection of user fee on the said stretch as per the provision of rule 3(3) of the  said rule.
