Question : RATES OF MILK IN DMS



(a) whether the Government had revised the rates of milk during 2000-2001 to make up the annual loss suffered by the Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS);

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the rate at which the DMS has been buying milk alongwith the quantum thereof from the rural areas and contractors of milk, respectively during each of the last four years;

(d) the rate at which milk is supplied to retailers and the expenditure incurred thereon, per litre of milk; and

(e) the details of profit and loss to DMS during the said period alongwith the efforts made so far to make up the loss?

(a)&(b): The rates of DMS milk were revised with effect from 1-3-2000 as under:- (Rupees per litre)

(c): DMS has not been procuring milk directly from the rural areas as well as contractors of milk during each of the last four years.
