(a) & (b): In order to achieve the objective of boosting India`s exports, in the recent meeting of the Board of Trade held on 17th June 2005, it was decided to constitute five Working Groups and four Study Groups to examine, inter alia, Export Promotion Schemes, Trade Facilitation, SEZs & EOUs, specific sectors having export potential, impact of RTAs/ FTAs on Indian industry, etc. The Working Groups/ Study Groups are to consist of industrialists and members from the exporting community/ EPCs with the provision for co-opting outside experts by the convenors.
(c): A number of key strategies have been adopted in the Foreign Trade Policy (2004-09) and its annual supplement of April 2005 to achieve the objective of enhancing India`s share in world trade. These include simplification of procedures, reduction of transaction costs, development of world class infrastructure, neutralisation of incidence of duties on inputs used for exports, special focus on areas having export and employment potential, etc.
